Russians tell colleagues how much they want to spend on New Year’s gifts

63 percent of Russians plan to celebrate New Year’s Eve at work. This is shown by a survey conducted by Mediacom.Expert together with Surveyolog.ru, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.

Of these, 42% will go to a corporate banquet. The other 32% will spend their holiday in a restaurant with a festive program. 26% will celebrate at the office. 10% will be celebrating a corporate event out of town. 5% will organize a corporate event in a master class format in creative venues. 4% preferred intellectual entertainment such as quizzes and tasks. 3% will spend time actively bowling or laser tag.

The majority of respondents (79%) give New Year’s gifts to their colleagues. More than half of respondents (63%) choose gifts at their own discretion, 16% give gifts by drawing lots or playing Secret Santa, and 21% do not give gifts to colleagues.

Almost a third of respondents (32%) are ready to spend from 300 to 500 rubles on a gift to a colleague, slightly less (28%) – from 500 to 1000 rubles, another 19% – up to 300 rubles. 12% of respondents can afford to buy a gift worth 1000 to 1500 rubles, and 10% of working Russians are ready to spend 1500 rubles or more.

72% of respondents plan to relax at home on the January weekend, 26% plan to travel around Russia or out of town, and only 3% plan to go abroad.
