The Russian group of 46 people evacuated from the Gaza Strip was sent to Cairo, the capital of Egypt, from the Rafah checkpoint. This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia.
“The first group of 170 people had already moved to the Egyptian capital, while the second of 46 people had just left the Rafah checkpoint. “They will be provided with food and overnight accommodation, as well as all necessary medical and psychological assistance, at the operational headquarters of the Russian Emergencies Ministry,” the Ministry of Emergencies reported.
Before that, about 200 Russians passed Refah checkpoint on Friday, November 17.
The situation in the Middle East escalated after thousands of Hamas militants infiltrated Israel from the Gaza Strip on October 7, when Hamas announced the launch of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announcedthat the country is at war.
Russians who previously fled the Gaza Strip said about life in a war zone.
