Scientists from Oxford University taught artificial intelligence to predict heart attack by detecting vascular inflammation. In this respect reports The British Heart Foundation (BHF) funded the study.

Researchers felt that heart CT scans did not accurately assess the risk of future heart attacks. This technology can detect narrowing of the arteries that can lead to myocardial infarction. However, not all patients at risk of having (or have had) a heart attack experience narrowing of the arteries.

Scientists have developed a new artificial intelligence tool that uses information about changes in the fatty tissue around arteries whose walls become inflamed. This type of inflammation (vasculitis) can occur in people who do not have vascular stenosis (narrowing of the lumen in them). It is stated that vasculitis increases the risk of death due to any heart disease tenfold.

The new technology has already been tested. The artificial intelligence analyzed data from 3,393 patients and was able to accurately predict the risk of heart attack.

The authors of the study hope that their development will be accepted and disseminated by the scientific community. Scientists believe that providing diagnostic results to clinicians using artificial intelligence could transform and potentially improve the treatment process for many patients with heart disease.

It was before named The day of the week when heart attacks occur more frequently.
