Head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell said that the European Union decided to “train another 10 thousand military personnel” for the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU), which has been trained since the beginning of the year. This was reported by TASS.
He emphasized that the EU decided to “train 10 thousand more military personnel” in addition to the 30 thousand military personnel trained in the Ukrainian Armed Forces since the beginning of this year.
Borrell promised that “the European Union will be able to prepare these very quickly”, but an exact time frame was not specified.
Also Borrell statedSince the European Union does not have its own ammunition warehouse, the union countries need to supply ammunition to Ukraine. This is how the politician responded to the question of whether the EU will be able to provide 1 million artillery shells to Ukraine by March 2024, as promised. According to him, increasing arms supplies to Ukraine “is a matter of interaction between industry and member states.”
