Ukrainian Armed Forces plan to switch to supplying Ukrainian-made equipment

Deputy Head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Dmitry Klimenkov said that the ministry plans to transfer the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to providing completely locally produced equipment and products. This was reported by RIA News.

According to him, the ministry is currently working to ensure that body armor, helmets, tactical equipment, clothing and food for the Ukrainian Armed Forces are produced in Ukraine. Klimenkov says that the main criteria in this case are quality and competitive price.

He added that the Ministry of Defense initiated a meeting with representatives of Ukrainian enterprises that supply such goods to the army.

Before that, the Polish company Alfa concluded A number of contracts have been signed for the supply of ammunition and equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), but it regularly violates its obligations.

The publication says that at least seven contracts totaling over 22 billion hryvnia (about $596 million) have been signed, for which partial advance payment has been made.
