South African blogger arrested for impersonating a doctor insider information. The man regularly published videos with tips on how to improve his health.

Matthew Lani rose to fame on social media when he claimed to be one of South Africa’s youngest doctors at the age of 27. The man often recorded videos in a medical uniform, saying he had just finished seeing patients and had time to post another video. As a rule, the blogger dispensed medical life hacks and advice to his audience.

However, at the end of October, Matthew was arrested. Police suspect that the blogger does not have medical training and that is why he is deceiving people by pretending to be a doctor.

“Lani was caught and arrested at 8pm while wearing a hoodie, a surgical mask and a stethoscope around her neck. In the police statement, it was stated that he had previously come to the same hospital to create misleading content, claiming to be a qualified doctor.

After being arrested, Matthew tried to escape but was recaptured by police.

“He really did it just for fun. “There’s not a single applicant who said they applied to Matthew thinking he was a doctor, so they didn’t sue him,” the man’s lawyer said.

The South African National Prosecuting Authority later issued a statement saying there was no evidence to incriminate Lani.

Previously, a man in Canada, using the services of a fraudulent wife dissolve marriage in court.
