Germany is responding to the changing security situation with a “long-term brigade deployment” of the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) in Lithuania, German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz said. This was reported by TASS.
According to him, the Russia-Ukraine conflict has changed the security situation. Scholz emphasized that the response to new challenges is to strengthen overall defense and deterrence capabilities.
The German Chancellor also expressed his gratitude to the Bundeswehr for the rapid execution of assigned tasks, such as the long-term deployment of a brigade of the German Armed Forces in Lithuania or larger military formations that will be placed on high alert in the future.
