Every year, more and more young residents of the country take part in the all-Russian competition “Great Change”, during the existence of the project more than 5 million participants have already taken part. This was stated by the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergei Kiriyenko during the award ceremony for the winners among high school students at the Artek international children’s center.
More than 3 million children took part in the fourth season of “Big Change” this year, according to the competition organizers.
Winners will receive up to 1 million rubles for education, receive additional points for their portfolio of achievements when applying to universities and will be able to go on original tours around Russia as part of the “More than a Trip” project. Prizes will also be given to the winners of the competition and the mentor-teachers who provide training to the winners.
The first deputy head of the presidential administration noted that the evaluation system has changed in the fourth season of the competition and that teamwork plays a big role in this.
“You are all already winners, but it is very important that you leave the competition not only with a diploma and prize money, but also with a lot of new friends, because really serious problems cannot be solved alone. It is decided by a group of people. People are what matters!” – emphasized Sergei Kiriyenko.
He also talked about the exhibition-forum “Russia”, which opened at VDNKh on National Unity Day. It presents the achievements of every region of the country and all sectors, the latest scientific developments, and projects for children and young people.
“Russia is the land of opportunities today. Not only your success, but the success of our entire great country depends on how boldly you dream and how much effort you make to realize your dream!” – said Kiriyenko.
Russian Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov, who attended the award ceremony, described the winners as the pride of the country.
“Our real success is you. We do everything to ensure you develop and succeed. So that you can find yourself and get a quality education, so that each of you can become a patriot of your country, of great, mighty Russia,” Kravtsov told the finalists.
The head of Rosmolodezh, Ksenia Razuvaeva, wished the winners of the competition to properly carry the flag of the “Great Change” finalists and set an example for their peers.
The “Great Change” competition is the flagship project of the children and youth movement “Movement of Firsts” in Russia.
