Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Valeriy Zaluzhny said that the conflicts in the country have reached a stalemate. A British magazine writes about this Economist.

According to the military leader, Ukrainian troops cannot break through the defense line of the Russian Armed Forces. He urged not to hope for a “deep and beautiful breakthrough” in this context.

“Just like in the First World War, we have reached a level of technological development that puts us in a dead end,” Zaluzhny added.

He also said that for some time he could not understand the reasons for the failures of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the combat zone. As he said, according to all estimates, Ukrainian soldiers were supposed to “go to Crimea, fight in Crimea, return from Crimea” in just four months.

However, as a result, the army commander found the answer to his question. Zaluzhny emphasized that the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not achieve success due to Russian minefields and the destruction of Western equipment by artillery of the Russian Armed Forces.

In the end, he expressed confidence that only a sharp technological leap could change the situation at the front in Kiev’s favor. The military leader concluded that an invention comparable only to Chinese gunpowder would allow Ukrainian troops to break the impasse.

Previously Valery Zaluzhny was praised Russian Air Force and Electronic Warfare (EW) forces.
