“Ryabov was detained during operational search activities in a criminal case carried out by the Cybercrime Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. “Investigative activities regarding him are currently ongoing,” the statement said.
According to law enforcement officials, after a search of the apartment, Ryabov will be brought in for questioning. It is stated that it may be related to the management of anonymous political telegram channels.
It was previously reported that unidentified persons had drawn two pentagrams with pig heads on the apartment door to Izvestia’s military correspondent Valentin Trushnin. It was noted that unidentified people also sent threatening messages to Trushnin. Insults and personal information about the Izvestia employee himself and his family members were sent to the military correspondent from Ukrainian numbers.
Law enforcement forces are conducting an investigation into the incident and looking for the perpetrator.
