A Health-Driven Exit from the Russian Song Theater
Sergei Ryabov, once the deputy director of the Russian Song Theater, along with his assistant and Nadezhda Babkina’s named companion, stepped away from the theater due to health concerns. He spoke about the decision in a candid interview with Sound.
The choice was not easy. Ryabov spoke of his deep affection for the Russian Song Theater, its performers, and the staff who make up its daily life. He described the institution as a genuine family, built through countless collaborative projects and shared experiences. Nevertheless, the priority remained clear: safeguarding his health required a change, even when it meant stepping back from a beloved stage.
In addition to sharing his gratitude and regret, Ryabov noted that he and Babkina still maintain a friendship. They stay in regular touch and have consistently offered mutual support. While hints of future collaborations arose, he chose not to reveal specifics, choosing instead to emphasize the trust and respect that still drives their relationship.
Nadezhda Babkina has been in a long-standing domestic partnership with singer Evgeniy Gor since 2003. In a public discussion, Babkina acknowledged that they live separately as a couple but maintain a strong bond that keeps them connected on many levels.
