According to him, Roscosmos initially offered a place near Vladivostok on the Pacific coast. However, after inspection, colleagues from Roscosmos reported that the weather conditions on the ocean coast were not suitable for the launch and recommended moving to another region. The President said that he personally came to this region and later inspected the area where the cosmodrome was built.
Thus, the choice of location for the construction of the Vostochny cosmodrome was made by the President of Russia himself.
