It doesn’t look like a movie in general. Robert Rodríguez. It lacks the overly flashy, grimy atmosphere and haphazard staging that characterizes the director’s films such as ‘El Mariachi’, ‘From Dusk to Dawn’, ‘Planet Terror’ or ‘Machete’. But a good movie, or one without too many pretensions, works like a contemporary B-series, a shot. The audience will perceive references to ‘Inception’ in the film, which blends intrigue, action, fantasy and science fiction. Christopher Nolanand also to less popular movies like the old ‘Telefono’ Don Siegel about sleeper agents or ‘Paycheck’, a futuristic thriller John Woo A lead character, perhaps not coincidentally, played by Ben Affleck.hypnotic‘.
The plot revolves around people who have very special powers of clairvoyance. A kidnapped girl, Affleck’s daughter, is the incentive to kick off the story, but this is merely the film’s many twists and turns by combining well-resolved action scenes with a plot of surprise-filled psychic confrontations. . . The result is as simple as it is effective. Such films are appreciated for characters without much pretension, without any ambivalence – the situation of the enemy, always embodied by the hieratic. William Fichtner– and this provides Affleck with specific processes of interpretive redemption.
