The State Data Administration of the People’s Republic of China officially started its work on October 25. This was reported by TASS Citing Xinhua agency.
The ministry will report to the State Development and Reform Committee. It will be responsible for creating the data infrastructure and will also coordinate the sharing, development and application of information.
According to the agency, the new regulator will promote the construction of “digital China, digital economy and digital society”. All this will be done on the basis of unified planning.
Before that, the Chinese parliament accepted decision to dismiss the ministers of finance, defense, science and technology. Chinese Finance Minister Liu Kun and Science and Technology Minister Wang Zhigang have been serving in the government since March 2018. This spring, his powers were extended for another five years.
