Unmanned aerial vehicles belonging to Shiite armed groups attacked American military bases in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor and Hasakah provinces. The news agency reports that Associated press.

According to the agency, the pro-Iran Shiite group “Iraq’s Islamic Resistance” used drones to attack US military bases located near the Al-Omar oil field and in Ash-Shaddad.

The attack came just hours after Shiites claimed responsibility for a drone attack on the US At-Tanf military base in Homs province.

Earlier, John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator for the White House National Security Council, said U.S. officials believe Iran is supporting groups attacking bases housing U.S. military personnel in Syria and Iraq.
