All types of aircraft, helicopters and other seaplanes of the Baltic Fleet participated in large-scale exercises over the Kaliningrad region and the Baltic Sea. This was reported in the press service of the Western Military District.
“Pilots of all types of naval aviation aircraft of the Baltic Fleet conducted flights over the mainland of the region and the sea,” the defense ministry said in a statement.
It was noted that during the exercises, Su-30SM, Su-30SM2 and Su-24 aircraft performed the tasks of aerial reconnaissance, protecting ground forces and eliminating the fake enemy’s equipment, ships, manpower and command points.
At the same time, Su-27 pilots were trained to perform complex maneuvers at different altitudes and speeds to detect and destroy “enemy” aircraft, and training flights were carried out by Mi-24, Mi crews at Donskoye airfield. -8 and shipborne Ka-27 helicopters. The latter, for example, was busy searching for conditional enemy submarines.
During the exercises, military personnel used more than 20 different aircraft in total.
