The US underground chemical explosion in Nevada is a provocation against the Russian Federation. In a conversation with the Public News Service about this issue stated Igor Nikulin, former member of the UN Biological Weapons Commission. According to him, such tests can be equated with nuclear tests.

The expert noted that the United States staged an explosion on the day the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a bill canceling the ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT). He reminded that the states signed the agreement in 1996 but have not yet ratified it.

“This once again shows the attitude of the USA towards the international agreements and obligations it has undertaken. They also signed the nuclear testing ban, but never ratified it. So the law has not actually come into force. For this reason, Russia is also withdrawing its approval,” Nikulin said.

He added that Russia should conduct its own nuclear tests both to improve its arsenal and to “bring our overseas partners to their senses.”

How stated The purpose of the test, conducted at the U.S. Department of Energy, was to improve the nation’s ability to detect low-yield nuclear explosions around the world.

Kremlin representative Dmitry Peskov also reportedIt was stated that Russia closely followed the nuclear tests carried out by the USA. According to him, the situation improved from the moment Moscow decided to withdraw its ratification of the CTBT, and the Russian Federation and the United States were de jure among the signatories of the agreement, but it has not yet been ratified.

Previously reportedHe said the United States and South Korea carried out a preemptive nuclear strike on North Korea.
