Labor Party United Kingdom Overturns conservative majority in country’s midterm electionsHe won the Tamworth district north of Birmingham city for the first time since 1996. Following his party’s victory, Labor leader Keir Starmer said it was “an extraordinary result that shows Labor is once again at the service of workers and redesigning the political map”. “For those who trust us and consider doing so, Labor will spend every day acting in your best interests and focusing on your priorities. Labor will give Britain its future back,” he added.
These by-elections followed the resignation of Conservative MP Chris Pincher in September., was accused of abuse of power after groping two men. The MP claimed that the incidents occurred while he was off duty and therefore acting in his personal capacity.
