We’ve been hearing about this restaurant for a long time, but for one reason or another, we’d never been there until recently. We pre-booked on the website and showed up there Thursday at 21.30.
It is a well-decorated restaurant with several areas: living room insideA. pergola deck and one terrace. We chose the pergola. Even though there were already people in the restaurant, we were taken care of and served fairly quickly. There were 4 of us and we chose to drink Carabalasa Verdejo DO Castilla y León, but then we switched to red with Hacienda Solano from Ribera del Duero.
Everything on the grill
As for the food, we decided share a few dishes in the center. So we started by ordering some Idiazabal pastry on the recommendation of the waiter who told us they were a hit. And the truth is it doesn’t surprise us, they are one idiazabal cheese bomb. Something that goes beyond the typical croquet. We also wanted some fried buds With Romescu sauce, semi-dried tomatoes and walnut sauce avocado to blind with tomato, crispy onion and coriander emulsion leek to coal with their chips and red pesto.
Mordida’s expertise embersIn fact, almost all of the dishes on the menu are self-made. playful (for those who don’t know, it is a coal furnace that reaches temperatures over 350°).
However, what we did not expect was that such vegetables could be cooked this way. We hereby assure you that You will rarely try sprouts, avocados or leeks that are this different and have this taste.
For seconds we selected: grilled octopusHE Steak tartare with mustard ice cream And ribeye ripe La Finca’s selection and also everything in the centre. We find one tender octopus with a good grilled taste, a good portion of steak tartare, very fun and interesting and with the distinctive touch the mustard ice cream gave it and a well seasoned sirloin, perfectly executed and where Josper reveals his full potential. Simply magnificent.
And for dessert: spicy French toast with nougat ice cream!
We end with one spicy french toast with nougat ice cream, but also to share. The truth is that we couldn’t stand it anymore, but we also couldn’t help sinning. And we did nothing wrong, because blessed Torrija!
We have a few highly talked about dishes left to try; artichoke flowers, salad and of course aged steak. So you should undoubtedly come back to Mordida for more.
