University of Alicante hosted a conference and roundtable yesterday. Civil Guard on the occasion 35th anniversary of income women in the Corps. Under the title “Past, Present and Tomorrow of Civil Guard Women”, Benemérita tried to bring participants closer to the working reality of women in Benemérita. Five agents from different levels of the Civil Guard presented their experiences regarding entry, professional careers, promotions, specializations, and equity, among other aspects related to their professional careers, academic education, and personal and family situations.
The event was moderated by Sea ShepherdPresented by the director of the Alicante Institute of Forensic Medicine and Forensic Sciences and the vice-rector for Students and Employment, Rosario FerrerVice Rector for Equality, Participation and Responsibility, Eva Espinarand colonel-chief of the Alicante Command, José Hernández Mosque.
Two of the five participating agents were the chief captain of the Nature Conservation Service of the province of Alicante and the chief deputy of the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Squad (EDOA) of the Alicante Judicial Police Organic Unit. Also participating was a civil guard from the Alicante Command Weapons Detachment who was involved in the first promotion of women in the Civil Guard and was also the first woman to take the Mastery of Arms course in 1994; a civilian guard from Calp Company’s specialized team against gender violence (VioGen Team); and a trainee student guard assigned to Citizen Security at El Verger Main Station.

These women, most of whom were widows and orphans of the Organization, served both on land and at sea in the tax expert units at the customs, with the main mission of searching for women.
