As stated in the statement, more than half of the tourists, 56 percent, are Chinese citizens. Residents of Japan, South Korea, Myanmar, Taiwan, France, Mexico and many other countries also came to the region.

At the same time, some travelers prefer to come to the Russian region as part of groups organized in accordance with the intergovernmental agreement between the Russian Federation and the PRC.
“We see how the tourist geography has changed this year. Guests from countries we never dreamed of visiting have become more active. This creates new opportunities for the development of the sector,” said the head of the agency, Arseniy Krepsky.
