A train carrying hundreds of European Council representatives got lost and mistakenly delivered them to Disneyland instead of the European Parliament plenary meeting in Strasbourg, France. A German newspaper reports this Photograph.
According to the publication, MEPs went there by train, but French railway workers accidentally sent the locomotive to the city of Marne-la-Vallée near Paris, where the Disneyland amusement park is located. The train was then directed to the requested location, arriving there with a slight delay.
“We are not a Mickey Mouse parliament!” – German MP Daniel Freund was indignant.
The publication’s columnists ironically compared the situation to a “traveling circus.”
Before that, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjártó commented The European Union is planning to introduce a new sanctions package against Russia using an anecdote.
