Israeli President Isaac Herzog condemned the deadly explosion at Al Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, which he said was caused by an Islamic Jihad rocket, and criticized media reports about the tragedy.
“An Islamic Jihad rocket killed scores of Palestinians in a hospital in Gaza, a place where lives needed to be saved,” Herzog wrote on social media.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the explosion was caused by a “failed rocket launch” by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group.
Duke rejected accusations by Gaza officials that the IDF was responsible for the bombing.
“Shame on the media that swallows the lies of Hamas and Islamic Jihad and broadcasts the blood libel of the 21st century to the whole world,” Herzog said. “Shame on the despicable terrorists who deliberately shed the blood of innocents in Gaza,” the Israeli spokesman added.
“The choice has never been clearer. Israel faces an enemy of pure evil. If you defend humanity, that is, the value of all human life, you support Israel,” Herzog emphasized.
