United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin met with a number of Israeli officials during his recent visit to the Jewish state. It is known that the head of the American department proposed an agreement that would ensure that Israel would not be the first to attack Lebanon.
Austin also promised that Washington would help if Hezbollah began attacking Israeli territory.
From the north, the United States will be ready to provide its Middle Eastern ally with aircraft transfers to the region.
Presumably Israel accepted the US offer.
However, there has been no official statement from Washington and Jerusalem regarding such an agreement yet.
