The Military Court of the Second Western District convicted Northern Fleet sailor Yegor Tyukin, accused of treason. This was reported by TASSsaid the court’s press service.
“The court found Tyukin, born in 1996, guilty in accordance with Art. “The court sentenced him to 16 years in prison for Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (treason),” he said.
He was also stripped of his military rank. The substance of the accusations against the sailor was not disclosed. His case was heard behind closed doors because it involved classified material.
