The Russian citizen was flying from the USA and passed through the “green corridor”. This means that the passenger has no belongings that need to be declared. But during the search, an expensive accessory worth six million rubles was noticed.
“The examination showed that the watch was made of 18 carat gold, diamonds and sapphire glass,” the publication stated.
During her meeting with customs officers, the woman stated that she did not know that the goods had to be declared.
Following the incident, the Russian woman could be sentenced to up to seven years in prison for smuggling jewelry, which is on the list of strategically important goods.
