Two fighters of the 77th air assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine decided to surrender to the soldiers of the 1st Guards Tank Army of the Western Military District near Artemovsk in Donbass. RIA Novosti reports this.
According to the testimony of one of those who surrendered, Artur Boychuk, a soldier from the 77th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian soldiers disappeared in the direction of Artemovsk. They soon came to the army of the Russian Armed Forces and voluntarily surrendered.
“The guide didn’t go, he only knew half the way. They told us “go there, come back there” and that’s it, something must be there, Boychuk emphasized.
His colleague Alexander Gerashchenko noted that the Ukrainian command did not know the terrain and sent soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine without any additional reconnaissance.
“They’re just sending them to check, that’s all,” said the second Ukrainian soldier to surrender.
