The head of the press center of the “West” group, Colonel Sergei Zybinsky, claims that Russian helicopters and attack aircraft launched 14 attacks on brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kupyansk direction. This was reported by RIA News.
According to him, Ka-52 and Mi-28 helicopters, as well as attack aircraft, participated in the attacks in the residential areas of Sinkovka, Ivanovka, Stelmakhovka and Berestovoe.
Crews of heavy flamethrower systems carried out two attacks on platoon strongholds of the 4th Ukrainian Tank Brigade in the Makeyevka area.
Before that, the head of the administration of the Kharkov region, Vitaly Ganchev statedThat the Ukrainian army is withdrawing additional territorial defense fighters towards Kupyansk.
Ganchev said that the enemy is trying to increase reserves along the border line. He stated that additional forces had been withdrawn to establish defences.
On October 7, the Russian army repelled five counterattacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kupyansk direction. It was also reported that the “Western” units of the Russian Armed Forces attacked the manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian army in this direction.
