At least one dead, three injured and two vehicles set on fire According to the National Police, a conflict broke out this Thursday between people trying to enter a property in Paraguay and local security guards.

The incident took place on land located in the Remansito district of Villa Hayes, the capital of the Presidente Hayes region (west). This area has become the center of public attention in recent days after local media condemned the attack. Commissioner Luis Bazán, director of the Villa Hayes Police, told local media that security guards confronted locals who claimed that the property was part of farm 916, which he denied.

In a message on the social network, Villa Hayes regional hospital director Elías Fleitas confirmed to Megacadena TV that a person who arrived at the center “without signs of life” had died. Fleitas announced that four more people who were “stabilized” were treated.

Additionally, the police chief assured that locals set fire to two vehicles belonging to security guards. Bazán explained that a group of people disrupted traffic in the area to protest the death.

The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office clarified the issue with a message published on the social network.
