Doctors at Solnechnogorsk Regional Hospital saved a 45-year-old patient with a bleeding ulcer. In this respect reported In the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region.

The patient was taken to a healthcare facility due to low blood pressure and loss of consciousness. The man had an urgent tomography scan, necessary examinations were performed and he was transferred to intensive care. There, he received a blood transfusion and after his condition stabilized, a gastroscopy was performed. The examination revealed the presence of a bleeding duodenal ulcer.

“The patient lost at least 2 liters of blood. During the surgery, 2/3 of the stomach was removed,” said surgeon Mikhail Stroitelev.

Following the operation, the patient recovered quickly and was discharged from the hospital for outpatient treatment a week later.
