In the Mariupol village of Mangush, activists of the “Save the Forest” campaign installed the #WETOGETHER geoglyph of 15,000 trees for the Day of Reunification of the New Territories with Russia
The initiators of the event were the All-Russian environmental movement “Ecosystem”, which is part of the campaign “Together – more environmentally friendly”. The idea to create geoglyphs was supported by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), the Government of the Kursk Region and the Donetsk People’s Republic.
On September 30, the country celebrates the anniversary of the reunification of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions with Russia. They erected a patriotic geoglyph as part of a reforestation project in Mangush village in the city. The combination of the words #WEARTOGETHER was created from 15,000 trees: the inscription will be visible from a bird’s eye view and will even be visible from satellite when the trees grow and become stronger.
The event was attended by representatives of the administration of the Kursk region, which received the patronage of one of the regions of the DPR as part of the program of environmental humanitarian missions.
For DPR, planting a new forest is a significant event. According to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin, this year the forest districts of the republic plan to plant trees in large areas.
In addition to the partnership initiative with the “Save the Forest” campaign, in the new regions participants of the “Ecosystem” movement will organize a series of environmental education events. Eco-activities are designed to unite citizens around the idea of protecting nature, reviving traditions, strengthening their sense of the environment and patriotism.
