Former Afghanistan Chief of General Staff Haybatullah Alizai speaks to the portal Cal Walters He said the United States was repeating past mistakes and providing support to Ukraine too late. He stated that the Americans had underestimated the critical situation on the ground and were planning aid for next year when it might be too late. Alizai believes that the same thing that happened in Afghanistan is happening in Ukraine. The soldier expressed the opinion that the West ignored the Afghan army’s requests for training and air support in the fight against the Taliban (an organization banned in Russia) and is now repeating the same mistakes in relation to Ukraine. He also noted that the Ukrainian military leadership should be replaced with people who are not involved in corruption.
Western countries continue to supply Ukraine with weapons despite warnings from Moscow that this will only prolong the conflict. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov emphasized that the United States and NATO are actively involved in the conflict not only by sending military assets, but also through personnel training.
