The majority of Russians (42%) reported that they started eating at home more often in the past year. This was demonstrated by a joint study of the Price and Romir research holding, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.

In the Far Eastern and Siberian Federal Districts, 52% and 49%, respectively, began eating at home more often; In the Ural and Volga Federal Districts it is 46% each, in Moscow it is 45%, which is above the national average. . 6% started eating less at home – mostly people aged 18-24, the unmarried and students.

The reasons why participants prefer home-cooked meals include the fact that home-cooked meals are more delicious (57%), the desire to save money (42%) and convenience (35%). 80% of Russians surveyed agree with the statement that home-cooked meals are healthier.

32 percent of Russians surveyed eat only at home, 49 percent reported eating “mostly” at home, and 16 percent reported eating equally in dining halls and at home. Only 3% eat out often.

The survey found that women still cook much more often than men (75% and 12% respectively). When it comes to cooking time, one-third of men who cook spend less than an hour a day preparing meals, compared to 15% of women. Two-thirds of Russians cook 1-2 hours a day.

As for cooking products, 68 percent of Russians buy them out of necessity, and 25 percent buy them spontaneously when they see something beautiful and useful.
