Although being around 45 years old does not mean old age today, many unemployed people of this age face difficulties in returning to work. This is a fact. To support them financially, the Government is providing benefits of around 500 euros to unemployed people over 45, administered by the State Public Employment Service (SEPE).
However, SEPE establishes certain conditions as follows: They must not have children under the age of 26 or older with a disability of 65% or more.. These criteria ensure that this special assistance is allocated only to those at risk of poverty or exclusion.
As an important piece of information, we need to emphasize that we should not confuse this benefit with Active Addition Income (RAI), which we have already discussed with you on other occasions. Both benefits have the same amount, yes, which is 80% of the Multiple Impact Public Income Indicator (IPREM) or the same, 480 euros per month.
What differentiates them is the duration of both supports, because this support we are talking about is valid for six months without the possibility of requesting it again. Only when this aid is exhausted can RAI be claimed.

Be between the ages of 45 and 52 and have exhausted unemployment benefits.

Be unemployed and registered as a job seeker for at least one month after the end of the benefit and for the duration of the subsidy.

How to request aid of 480 euros?
SEPE gives you 15 working days (three weeks) from the date your unemployment ends to the end of the month you are waiting.
It can be requested personally from the SEPE office by making an appointment and having the documents and forms ready. Alternatively, the digital certificate can be made online via the SEPE website using the electronic DNI or Cl@ve system.
