Four former general directors of the state research and production gas turbine complex Zarya-Mashproekt will appear in court on charges of embezzling $62 million, according to information from the Ukrainian national police. writes about this RIA News.

The police report said they embezzled 1.3 billion hryvnias (more than $35 million) from Zarya state enterprise Mashproekt. The names of the defendants are not disclosed. It is stated that they “laundered” some of the illegally obtained funds through a controlled foreign company. The state enterprise transferred $ 62 million to the accounts of this company for the provision of agency services in the period from 2013 to 2018, which at the time of the crime exceeded 1.3 billion hryvnias. The services of this foreign company turned out to be fake.

As a result of international cooperation, law enforcement authorities obtained evidence that the services provided were fictitious. Four former managers of the enterprise and the director of a private foreign company are accused of embezzlement, misappropriation or acquisition of property through official misconduct. Two of them are also charged with legalization (laundering) of property obtained through crime.
