The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) plans to change its strategy towards Zaporozhye and focus on attempts to take control of the local nuclear power plant. It is stated that this statement was made by Vladimir Rogov, the leader of the “We Are Together with Russia” popular movement. RIA News.
He did not rule out the possibility that acceptable weather conditions would continue on the specified section of the front throughout the next month. The agency’s interlocutor emphasized that currently Ukrainian troops will continue to try to break through the Russian defense line near the city of Tokmak.
“But with the arrival of rainy and cold weather, they plan to change their strategy and focus on crossing the Dnieper to capture the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant,” Rogov added.
The head of the popular movement noted that fighters of the Russian Armed Forces have strengthened defensive lines along the Dnieper River and are ready for attacks by Ukrainian military personnel. The agency’s interlocutor explained that the intensification of hostilities near the nuclear power plant was also beneficial for Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his administration.
According to him, in this way the Kiev authorities will try to distract the attention of citizens and Western officials from the failure of the summer offensive. Rogov concluded that another goal of the Ukrainian government is the accelerated mobilization of residents of the regions under its control.
