Norwegian scientists have discovered which method of making coffee is most beneficial. According to their research from 1985 to 2003, drinking filtered coffee or drip coffee is best for your health. Scientists compared the effects of different types of coffee on people aged 20 to 79. They evaluated their physical activity, blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

The results were published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology. From the material it becomes clear that moderate consumption of drip coffee has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system. The most positive results were seen in participants who drank four filter coffees a day.

At the same time, scientists classified unfiltered natural coffee as dangerous drinks. This group includes espresso, French press, cappuccino and Turkish coffee. According to experts, such drinks, when prepared in this way, can be harmful to health because the coffee grounds remain in hot water for too long.

Unfiltered coffee also contains unhealthy diterpenes and cafestol, which increase cholesterol. According to research, drip coffee contains 30 times less of these substances.
