State Duma deputy Vasily Vlasov says that a new support measure should be introduced for Russians working in the field of caring for the disabled. He called for such residents of the country to be provided with the opportunity to retire earlier. Vlasov recalled that according to today’s legislation, parents raising a disabled child under the age of eight have the right to retire earlier: Vlasov recalled that a mother can retire at 50, a father at 55, if they have the required length of service.
However, such benefits are not provided to those working in the disability care sector. These include nannies, caregivers, nursing homes, orphanages and boarding school staff. In his speech, the MP emphasized that they are facing great physical and psychological stress. He called for them to be allowed to retire one year early for every five years they work in disability care.
The MP believes that appropriate changes should be made to federal legislation and other regulations.
