At least five people were killed This Wednesday, by unknown persons in the Baracoa region of Cortés province in northern Honduras. They wore uniforms similar to those used by the National PoliceAccording to local media reports.
According to unofficial versions, multiple crimes occurred in the Leones del Bosque neighborhood; where eight strangers arrived and forced five men into a vehicle, then killed them. The victims were identified as Allan García, a bricklayer by trade; Michael Meza, farmer; Franklin Gómez, who devoted himself to herding sheep; Junior Grande and Yeison Grande.
The perpetrators of the crime left a handwritten message on blue cardboard for one of the murdered men: “For every person you touch, the Atlantic cartel kills you ten times“.
Criminal violence in Honduras kills an average of ten to thirteen people a day, according to official sources, which attribute most of the bloodshed to organized crime and drug trafficking.
