At least 11 people died and 12 people were injured when a truck collided with a bus on Wednesday. A group of Hindu pilgrims were traveling in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan.
The accident occurred in the early hours of this morning in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district when a trailer truck collided with a bus coming from the neighboring state of Gujarat. X’s old Twitter account, according to Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of the region. He stated that at least 11 people lost their lives as a result.
Gehlot stated that security forces were in the area where the incident took place to treat the injured who were treated by medical teams and to investigate what happened. At least 12 people were also injured in the accident.However, according to local media reports, the number may increase during the day because the bus was stranded on the road after a report of malfunction and some of the passengers were outside the vehicle at the time of the collision.
After learning what happened, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and announced that approximately $2,400 compensation would be paid to the families of the dead and $602 to the injured.
Traffic accidents occur frequently in India due to the poor condition of roads, unstable conditions of some vehicles and general non-compliance with traffic rules.
