The company Potok conducted an analysis that noted an increase in vacancies for IT specialists. Growth in 2023 compared with 2022 is 30-40%, the company’s press service told socialbites.ca.

Analysts explain that this interest is due to two reasons: the rapid growth of employees in the career ladder and the classic personnel turnover in departments. Moreover, vacancies include companies’ requests so that the future candidate is already involved in the process and can quickly complete the task after getting a job. Companies are mainly looking for: “Developer”, “Programmer”, “Tester”, “Designer”, “Copywriter”, “Business Analyst”.

The rapid growth of job postings is associated with the rapid development of IT technologies, which requires faster training of specialists and their number to increase several times. This shows the situation of different sectors.

Therefore, the IT and Telecom sectors are leading in terms of staff shortages. For example, the surface assembly line operator position increased 23% to 294 vacancies, and the “IT production manager” category increased 89% to 429 vacancies, according to HeadHanter.

Additionally, banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions are increasingly relying on computerization and process automation. Experts are needed in cybersecurity, data science and financial technology development.

There was also a shortage of IT specialists in the manufacturing industry. Smart factories and Industry 4.0 are concepts that are becoming increasingly popular. The development and implementation of new technologies requires experts in machine learning, process automation and big data. A 2023 study by K2Tech showed that 71% of organizations are ready to quickly and seamlessly switch from foreign solutions to Russian data storage systems. Despite this desire and demand from companies, there continues to be a shortage of valuable personnel.

If a company cannot fill a vacant position quickly, talented individuals may choose to work at another organization that offers better chances for career advancement and meeting their professional needs. Prompt resolution of personnel shortages will help attract and retain the best specialists. According to the Potok company, the main task of HR departments for 2022 was to recruit new personnel (40%), 27% want to prevent valuable staff from leaving by improving working conditions, developing new approaches to motivate staff and increasing loyalty. The remaining 11% set their goal to improve the professional skills of their employees.

Previously at the Ministry of Digital Development said About plans to provide concessional mortgages to IT professionals.
