The head of the press service of the US State Department, Matthew Miller, said that the American administration plans to take additional measures to strengthen the Ukrainian air defense system. Miller said this at a briefing for reporters. TASS.
Even before Russia’s Special Military Operation (SVO) began, US President Joe Biden, national security adviser Jake Sullivan and Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin were working to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses, according to the official. Miller noted that Washington transferred a number of American defense systems to Kiev as part of a recent military aid package. Additionally, the United States is interacting with other countries regarding the supply of air defense systems to Ukraine. Washington plans to continue this interaction.
Miller added that this week, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will discuss strengthening Ukraine’s air defense with German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock.
