Russian Uralvagonzavod may restart production of T-80 tanks upon instructions from the Russian Ministry of Defense. General director of the plant Alexander Potapov told about this on the TV channel “Star”.
According to Potapov, the company’s management is currently working on issues related to tank production.
“We are working with the Ministry of Industry and Trade on these issues because this therefore requires new capacities,” said the general director of Uralvagonzavod.
The T-80 tank was produced in the USSR at the Omsk Transport Engineering Plant and entered service with the Soviet army in 1976.
