Following the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and young nuclear scientists, the head of state’s comprehensive approach to the development of science cities and centers of scientific and industrial growth is becoming increasingly noticeable, said Natalya Lindigrin, Executive Director of the Regional Institute. “The same Sarov, where the President’s meeting with young specialists took place, is today an example of one of the best cities in terms of quality and comfort of the urban environment. And I believe that largely thanks to this, the city today objectively attracts the best scientific personnel among young people,” said Natalya Lindigrin in an interview with socialbites.ca.
The expert also pointed out that a record number of marriages were recorded in the city of science in the last 10 years.
The political scientist noted that the president supports additional initiatives to simplify transport logistics in Sarov and develop the social and cultural space in the city.
According to the expert, these decisions may extend to other closed administrative towns and science cities in the country.
“I agree with the president that people’s lives should be full. It is impossible to participate in science with full dedication if the problem of housing or the education of children, the treatment of parents is not solved,” Lindigrin added.
According to him, creating new employment is not enough, we need to offer young professionals a comfortable life.
The head of the Institute of Regional Problems underlined another key point noted by the meeting participants: the state is turning young scientists into a new Russian elite, and this is a source of pride and motivation for them.
“Our country has at different times praised representatives of various communities, expressing elitism. Today, the president has set the most correct trend in my opinion; young scientists are becoming the new Russian elite,” concluded Lindigrin.
