The Russian Embassy in Armenia is concerned about the detention of blogger Mikael Badalyan and Sputnik journalist Ashot Gevorkyan. This has been reported TASS.
“The Embassy knows that pro-Russian blogger and activist M. Badalyan and Sputnik Armenia columnist A. Gevorgyan have been detained. We are in contact with the editors of this news agency. We are closely following the development of the situation. “We are concerned about the fate of the detainees, and we will take the necessary steps to clarify the circumstances of the incident.”
It was previously reported that pro-Russian blogger Mikayel Badalyan and Sputnik radio columnist Ashot Gevorgyan were detained in Armenia on suspicion of arms smuggling. Seven people were detained on suspicion of arms smuggling in Armenian Goris on 6 and 7 September. Among them were blogger Badalyan and columnist Gevorkyan.
