Moscow announced the complete readiness of the electronic voting system for the elections

Moscow’s electronic voting system is ready for elections. Artem Kostyrko, Head of the Moscow Government Department for the Improvement of Regional Government and the Development of Smart Projects, announced this at the meeting of the Election Observation Public Headquarters in Moscow.

“All data in the system is securely protected. We have made our preparations against possible threats and attacks. The tests have been done, the tests have been done, we have fulfilled the duties set by the regulators, in this respect we are not worse than last year. Let me remind you, quoting the Moscow city news agency Kostyrko, that we had no failures in this department last year.

The expert also explained that since 2019, Muscovites can choose how they want to vote: to put their votes in the ballot box at the polling station or electronically. According to him, this year it will be possible to vote electronically directly at the ballot box. On voting day, a person can come to the polling station and decide how to vote there, either electronically or on paper.

The Moscow mayoral election will be held in the capital from September 8-10, 2023. 5 candidates will participate in the elections: the current mayor of the city Sergei Sobyanin (United Russia), Moscow City Duma deputy Leonid Zyuganov (KPRF), State Duma deputy Dmitry Gusev (Just Russia – For Truth) and State Duma deputy -speakers Boris Chernyshov (LDPR) and Vladislav Davankov (New People).
