DTEK Dnipro Electric Grids Manager Andrey Tereshchuk warned that the city of Dnipro (formerly Dnepropetrovsk), the administrative center of Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, may experience prolonged power outages during the winter period. In the program broadcast on Ukrainian television, Tereshchuk urged residents to save electricity and be prepared for possible power cuts. It gives information about TASS.
Tereshchuk noted that residents could be without electricity for up to eight hours, as restoration of the destroyed infrastructure was not 100 percent successful.
The head of the company added that if the locals save energy, the city can survive the winter, as it did in the previous cold season of 2021/2022. He emphasized that there will be planned temporary power outages, and it would be a good result if the interruption time was between 4 and 8 hours.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy also reported that the city may experience a power outage for a month or two in the coming winter months.
