Researchers at the University of Kansas found that adding a natural component of breast milk to infant formula can help increase IQ and improve executive function in infants. The results of the research were published at: magazine Journal of Pediatrics.
The study showed that annual intake of the mixture with the addition of milk fat globules and lactoferrin membrane increased children’s IQ by 5 points when tested at age 5 and a half. Children who were not fed this mixture as children did not improve.
The effect was most noticeable in the children’s information processing speed and visuospatial skills.
