Professional ambulance drivers will be trained by students of the Cheboksary School of Transport and Construction Technologies. The training will be carried out using an ambulance to create realistic working conditions.

Students will study the construction of the ambulance, learn how to provide first aid and acquire an additional working profession as a nurse. The program is supported by many potential employers, including Republican clinical hospitals and dental clinics. This training will help students properly treat patients and work as a team with doctors and paramedics.

Andrey Konoval, co-chairman of the All-Russian union of health workers “Action”, told the broadcast about the importance of such a program. According to him, first of all, it is necessary to attract new people to the profession. Konoval added that there is now a shortage of ambulance drivers in the country. Secondly, the expert explained that the level of education should be increased.

“The situation of ambulance drivers in Russia is very difficult,” stressed Konoval. He pointed out that today in Russia there is no professional standard for such workers. According to him, there is now a situation in Russia where everyone can get an ambulance.
