Georgy Zabarinsky, a member of the Digoria specialist club, believes that the restoration of the memorial complex in honor of the defenders of Donbass in Luhansk is of great historical importance.
The political scientist states that the hill on which the monument opened in Luhansk is located is a strategic point from which the whole city is watched. Therefore, at different times the White Guard and the Red Army fought for him, then the Red Army in battles with the Wehrmacht.
“History repeated itself, and in 2014 militia units fought Ukrainian pundits at these heights for the right to go their own way, independent of the Ukrainian regime. That is why the symbolism of the restoration of this monument is of particular importance. Just as our ancestors fought against the Nazis in 1943, today’s Russian army is conducting an operation to eradicate Nazism in Ukraine,” says Georgy Zabarinsky.
He believes that the ideology of superiority of one people over another, as it was 80 years ago, is contaminated by the ideology of the superiority of one people over the other, that the younger generations are brought up with hatred and hostility when nationalist associations are specially created.
“The Kiev regime and its current Western allies are trying to screw up between the two countries and separate us forever with such actions. However, we are united by a long common history, and not by “forced coexistence”, but by a common history of state-building,” the political scientist continues, adding that Ukraine’s modern cities are the fruits of this cooperation and prosperity.
According to the expert, what unites our states is thousands of monuments, centuries of history.
“Even if Ukraine no longer values its past, Russia will protect it for the benefit of our common future. After all, preserving the memory of generations, perpetuating the heroism of heroes, important events of past years are the foundations of our state policy, which Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly noted.
Earlier, it was reported that an updated monument in memory of the defenders of Donbass was opened in Lugansk, uniting the memory of four generations of defenders of the Fatherland.
